Indian Head Massage has been practiced
in India for over a thousand years.
Today, the technique used is known as "CHAMPISSAGE" (Champi is the
Hindi word for Head Massage) and has been devised by Narendra Mehta.
Blind
since a child and with a highly developed sense of touch, he has drawn on the skills evolved through the ages to provide a
simple, safe and highly effective therapy.
The upper part of the body is
particularly vulnerable to stress and poor posture. Tension accumulates in the neck, back, shoulders and head. Massaging these
areas has a very potent effect - de-stressing the whole body.
Champissage
works on a physical, mental and subtle level and promotes a feeling of relaxation and well being.
What are the benefits? - Indian Head Massage helps
to ease stress symptoms such as knotted muscles, headaches, eye strain and insomnia
- By
stretching and mobilising tissues of the neck and shoulders, joint mobility is improved
- The
circulation is stimulated which promotes the elimination of toxins and increases the supply of oxygen to cells
- The movements loosen the scalp, promote hair growth and encourage healthy hair
- Relief is provided for conditions such as sinusitis and catarrh
- Champissage
aids concentration and helps combat anxiety and depression
- At the end of a session
the whole body feels relaxed and revitalised, and you are left with a deep sense of peace and tranquility
